 External rendering mixes for application to sound back-grounds. Minimum two coats off 9mm thickness with a third coat of at least 6mm thick-ness if a decorative finish is to be applied.

Internal rendering and plastering mixes for application to sound backgrounds or firm laths. Where fibre reinforcement is being used it should be thoroughly combined with the lime sand mix before introducing the Gypsum.
The commonly used reinforcements were Ox or Goat hair, chopped straw or reed and now a modern substitute is Alkali-resistant glass fibre as loose strands or a woven fabric.

Bleaklow coarse, medium and fine stuff will provide render, floating and finishing coats respectivly to which Gypsum may be added if required.

Render requirements for 10 square metres of render to a depth of 10mm would be approximately 0.1 cubic metres (100 litres). This makes no allowence for variations in render thickness or wastage.
